"I chose to study hospitality management because I wanted to be able to work around the world and also encounter and solve new situations on a daily basis. Studying at Hotel Institute Montreux allowed me to get the career I wanted by not only dispensing theoretical knowledge but also by allowing me to apply and showcase the knowledge I learned through class presentations, projects and internships; a perfect preparation to face future work situations.
Upon graduation, I went to Santa Lucia to be a trainee in the Sales Department of the Sandals La Toc Golf & Spa Resort. I then moved on to be at the Front Desk of the JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai where I received the Spirit to Serve Award from Marriott International. I am now working in Madrid in a company, which is specialized in business management and creation, focusing on the automotive market. I work with different clients, helping them in various projects, ranging from online training to sales increase and loyalty programmes.
In this short time frame, I've been able to work in three different parts of the world and meet people from different cultures and backgrounds. Although we come from different parts of the world, we are able to work together as a team and share our ideas. These interactions have truly opened my eyes and completely changed my lifestyle and my view of the world.
If you want to be successful in your hospitality career, be outgoing, positive and open-minded. Don't be afraid to take initiative or to face new challenges. Love what you do and learn from every little detail.
